Great idea’s come out of conversations between clients, colleagues and friends.  More often than not, there is delicious food and drink consumed at these gatherings.  And as these discussions build to the “AhHah” moments, the “why didn’t we think of this before” moments, there is a point that we realize it has gone from “just talking” to “we have to make this happen”.  51art flavor is the result of just that!

I am a photographer that lives on the Upper East Side of New York City.  As a local, there are a few restaurants I visit on a regular basis.  Over time I have become friends with Dermot, one of the owners.  We started talking photography and food.  Like all entrepreneurs, there is always something new being created behind the scenes.  In this case, new dishes that he would love to share as a “Recipe of the Month”.  Me, I am always looking for exciting projects to photograph.  And thus the idea of our blog began.

Now in my opinion food alone just won’t do-you need delicious wine and of course chocolate.  As we present to you the main recipe, my friends and local wine and chocolate experts will make recommendations for the perfect accompaniment.

The goal of this site is to bring together the many flavors of our neighborhood interpreted through food and art.  We’ll share the nut’s and bolts of how to prepare the meal as well as how to prepare for the photo-shoot.
